LILU (NICK) WANG
BIO
Lilu Wang
My work is strongly practice-driven. In my graduation short film Shadow Puppetry, I worked as both director and scriptwriter, developing the narrative concept, building the story structure, and translating the script into clear visual storytelling. Throughout production, I led communication across departments, guided the creative direction, and ensured the project stayed on schedule while maintaining a strong artistic vision.
I also have solid hands-on experience in post-production. As the editor of the documentary Queer as Folk, I carried out interdisciplinary research on LGBT topics and crafted the final narrative through a documentary editing workflow. The film received the Best Film Award at our end-of-semester showcase, reflecting my ability to combine meaningful themes with effective storytelling and editing rhythm.
With training in cinematography and post-production, I’m comfortable working across the full filmmaking process, and I use tools such as DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Audition, Shot Designer, Photoshop, and Cinema 4D. I’m passionate about creating films that are visually expressive, emotionally honest, and driven by strong ideas.
